Poncelet – Punto Selectooriginated as a new concept in “specialised food products” with cheese as its main product. Tradition, together with a passion for fine foods and premium quality, combines with modernity, innovation and avant-garde tastes in this, the first establishment in Spain to specialise exclusively in cheese.
 
The first Poncelet store specialising in both domestic and international cheeses opened in Madrid in December 2004, the result of a genuine committment to becoming a reliable reference in the sector. We are confident that this aim has been achieved.
 
 
The Culture of Cheese
 
 
Poncelet – Punto Selecto endeavours to focus in a unique way on the world of cheese by bringing together cheesemakers, professionals in the sector, and consumers, thus creating an atmosphere for discovery and appreciation of this product. In this way, we hope to provide cheesemaking artisans with first–hand knowledge of the tastes and preferences of consumers, fine-tuning the product to the demand, while at the same time allowing the consumer to acquire knowledge and discernment in their appreciation of cheese i.e., its possibilities, curiosities and secrets.
 
At Poncelet it is our wish that artisan cheesemakers are the real protagonists, so that when a purchase is made the consumer goes away with something more than just another food product.

o   Our products are always at peak flavour for consumption
 
-       In order to maintain the highest standards in product quality and provide “at peak” cheeses for the consumer, we rely on the most advanced techniques for ripening and storage, recreating the conditions which exist in a cheese cellar or cave in terms of temperature, humidity, and air quality
 
 
The Art of Selection
 
 
We offer the widest selection of Spanish and European cheeses on the market, always in accordance with our quality standards.
We stock:
 
·         Approximately 90 Spanish cheeses
·         Approximately 230 European cheese
·         Cheeses made from full-fat milk
·         Artisan or farmhouse cheeses
·         Cheeses from small producers
 
This selection is based on artisanal and traditional products which may or may not figure on the PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) or PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) lists.
